Fed: NSW Labor tops political donations
The New South Wales Labor Party was the best supported political party last financial
year, with donations and public funding adding up to more than $9 million.
The Australian Electoral Commission says the total for all state branches of the Labor
Party was more than $44 million.
The Liberal Party got more than $18 million nationwide and the National Party nearly $5 million.
The Australian Democrats got just under $1 million and Pauline Hanson's One Nation got $874,000.
The biggest single donation was $430,000 from public relations firm Markson Sparks
to the New South Wales Labor Party.
Second biggest was $250,000 from packaging billionaire RICHARD PRATT to the federal
Liberal Party.
